For many people, the hardest part of booking a healing session isn’t the decision — it’s the unknown.
They wonder:
What will it feel like?
Will I have to talk?
Will I feel awkward?
What if I don’t “feel” anything?
What if I get emotional?
These are very normal questions, and I hear them often.
So I want to gently walk you through what a Reiki and sound healing session with me is actually like.
When you arrive, there’s no rush. No pressure. No expectation that you need to be or feel a certain way. You don’t need to explain everything or know what you want to work on. You’re simply welcomed into a calm, supportive space.
You’ll be invited to lie down comfortably and rest. This is your time to pause. To stop doing. To stop holding everything together.
Many people notice the first shift here — their body starts to soften.
As the session begins, Reiki and sound are used gently to support relaxation and balance. You don’t need to concentrate or “do” anything. Your body knows how to receive.
People experience sessions differently, but some common feelings include:
a deep sense of calm
warmth or gentle sensations in the body
feeling lighter or clearer
emotional release, or simply feeling very relaxed
a quiet mind for the first time in a long while
Some people drift into a dream-like state. Others remain awake but deeply relaxed. There is no right or wrong experience.
Sound healing adds another layer of support. The vibrations help guide the body out of tension and into a more settled, grounded state. It’s often described as feeling gently held by sound.
You don’t have to talk during the session unless you want to. And you don’t need to understand how it works for it to be beneficial. The body responds naturally when it feels safe.
Afterwards, people often describe feeling:
calmer
more present
emotionally lighter
more connected to themselves
Sometimes the effects are immediate. Other times they unfold gently over the following days.
A Reiki and sound healing session isn’t about fixing you — because you’re not broken. It’s about giving your body and energy the space and support they need to return to balance.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself, this is a very gentle way to begin coming back home to you.
I offer sessions at 2 Osborne Court, Loganholme, on Thursdays, and I would love to support you when you feel ready.
