When the Nurturer Needs Nurturing

If you’re usually the one who holds space for others, you may notice that sometimes you start to feel… different.

You might feel more withdrawn.
Less patient.
More emotionally exposed around people you care about.

Not because you don’t love them, but because you’ve been giving from a place that hasn’t had a chance to refill.

Those who nurture often don’t realise how much they carry.
They’re used to being the steady one. The listener. The support.

So when their own emotional capacity starts to thin, it can feel confusing or even unsettling.

This isn’t burnout in the dramatic sense.
It’s quieter than that.

It’s the body and heart asking for care in return.

Often, what nurturers need isn’t more talking or fixing, it’s a place where they don’t have to hold anything at all. Where they can simply rest, receive, and soften without expectation.

If this resonates, know that there is nothing wrong with you.

Even those who give deeply need space to be gently supported themselves.

Your Body Holds What Your Mind Can’t

Stress and emotions aren’t always easy to notice in the moment. They can hide in your body and your energy field, your (aura), quietly accumulating over time.

Emotions are powerful. When you experience trauma, grief, or intense stress, your aura absorbs and carries those feelings. Normally, your energy field can process and release them naturally. But when it becomes overloaded, usually around six months after a traumatic event, those emotions can start showing up in your physical body as tension, aches, headaches, digestive issues, or other unexplained symptoms.

You might notice:

  • Muscle tightness or aches that don’t seem to have a cause

  • Fatigue that sleep alone doesn’t fix

  • Feeling “wired but tired” at the same time

  • Difficulty focusing or feeling grounded

  • An emotional heaviness or irritability

  • Headaches or migraines that seem to come out of nowhere

  • Difficulty concentrating, feeling “foggy,” or emotionally drained

  • A sense of heaviness or restlessness

This is your body and your aura’s way of signalling that it’s holding more than it can safely manage. When we ignore these signals, our body adapts. But adaptation isn’t the same as relief.

“I’m holding too much. I need support.”

Your body is always communicating. Learning to listen, and supporting it gently, allows your energy and emotions to move, helping you feel grounded, balanced, and alive again.

This is where gentle healing comes in. Reiki, sound therapy, and energy work help by supporting your energy field to release the emotions that are trapped, giving your body a chance to recover and restore balance. When the aura is cleared and energy flows more freely, physical tension often eases and clarity returns.

It’s not about forcing change.
It’s about giving your body permission to let go.

And when that happens, your body, mind, and spirit begin to feel lighter, and more like you again.

What Aura Photography Can Reveal About Your Energy

Have you ever wondered what your energy looks like? Aura photography captures the subtle colours surrounding your body, providing a visual glimpse into your emotional, mental, and spiritual state. Each colour and shade can tell a story, from areas of balance and vitality to spaces where your energy might feel blocked or heavy.

Many people are surprised by what they discover through aura photography. You might notice patterns that reflect your stress levels, emotional challenges, or areas where your personal energy is strong and vibrant. It’s a gentle and non-invasive way to connect with yourself on a deeper level and understand what your body and mind are expressing, even when you don’t have the words.

Aura photography isn’t just about the image itself. When combined with healing modalities like Reiki, sound therapy, or frequency work, it can be a powerful tool for self-awareness, reflection, and energy realignment. Seeing your aura can help guide you toward areas that may benefit from extra care, relaxation, or support, while also celebrating the colours and strengths that already shine within you.

Whether you’re curious about your energy, seeking clarity, or simply enjoy exploring new ways to connect with yourself, an aura photography session is a unique and insightful experience. It’s a wonderful first step toward understanding, nurturing, and harmonising your personal energy, helping you feel more grounded, balanced, and aware of the amazing energy you carry every day.

You’re Not Lazy — Your Nervous System Is Overloaded

So many people quietly carry the belief that they are just not coping very well.

They tell themselves they should be able to handle more.
They think they are being lazy, unmotivated, or not trying hard enough.

But what I see, over and over again, is something very different.

I see nervous systems that are overwhelmed.

When you have been under stress for a long time — emotional stress, life stress, work stress, family stress, or even past experiences that were never fully processed — your body adapts by staying on alert.

This is often called “fight or flight”, but for many people it becomes a constant background state. It becomes normal.

You might notice this as:

  • always feeling on edge

  • being easily startled or irritated

  • finding it hard to relax, even when you have time

  • shallow breathing or tightness in the chest

  • clenching your jaw or shoulders without realising

  • feeling wired but tired

  • difficulty switching your mind off at night

Over time, this doesn’t feel like stress anymore. It just feels like you.

But it isn’t.

It’s your nervous system doing its best to protect you by staying alert.

The problem is that the body was never designed to stay in this state long-term. Eventually, it becomes exhausted. Foggy. Flat. Overwhelmed.

And this is often when people start blaming themselves.

They think:
“I should be able to handle this.”
“Why can’t I just relax?”
“What’s wrong with me?”

Nothing is wrong with you.

Your body has simply forgotten how to feel safe enough to switch off.

This is why gentle modalities like Reiki, sound healing, and frequency work can be so powerful. They don’t ask you to “try harder” or “think differently”. They allow the body to experience a state of safety and calm that it may not have felt in a very long time.

From that place, the nervous system can begin to reset.

And when that happens, everything starts to feel lighter.

If you’ve been feeling like you’re not coping as well as you should, please know — this isn’t a personal failing.

It’s a sign that your body is asking for support.

And that support can be very gentle.

Why You’re Tired Even After Sleeping

Do you ever wake up feeling like you haven’t rested at all?

You slept through the night.
You went to bed at a reasonable time.
And yet… you wake up already feeling flat, foggy, or heavy.

By the middle of the day, you feel like you could lie down again.
Not because you’re lazy.
Not because you didn’t sleep.
But because something deeper is going on.

This is something I see all the time with the beautiful people who come to see me for healing.

They are exhausted — but not from lack of sleep.

They are exhausted from holding too much.

Holding stress.
Holding emotions.
Holding responsibility.
Holding themselves together for everyone else.

Your body might be lying in bed at night, but your nervous system is still switched on. Still alert. Still processing. Still “on duty”.

And when this happens, the body never truly drops into the deep rest it needs to repair, reset, and restore.

So you wake up tired. Again.

Over time this can feel like:

  • constant fatigue

  • brain fog

  • irritability

  • feeling overwhelmed easily

  • feeling emotionally flat or teary for no clear reason

  • tension in the neck, shoulders, jaw, or chest

  • the sense that you’re just not quite yourself anymore

This isn’t something more sleep fixes.

This is something the body needs help to unwind from.

This is where gentle healing modalities like Reiki, sound healing, and frequency work can make such a difference. They allow the body to finally do what it hasn’t been able to do on its own — switch off, soften, and feel safe enough to rest properly.

Not just physically.

But emotionally and energetically too.

When the body feels safe, it rests.

And when it rests, everything starts to shift.

If this sounds like you, know that you’re not alone — and more importantly, it’s something that can be supported in a very gentle, nurturing way.

I see it every often.

And I would love to help you feel like yourself again. 🌿
